Bulgarian Fishing Association - Bourgas

The Association consists of mostly private fishing, fish-processing and trading companies in the fisheries and aquacultures branch. It has 26 outstanding Bulgarian companies including foreign trade organizations. The association is a non-profit organization and represents its members in dealing with government bodies and similar international organizations.It Upholds their interests and directs their requirements towards prospective foreign partners. The Association employs highly qualified researchers and has the support of state research organizations serving the fisheries branch. It provides legislative input for the fisheries branch.

The Association provides support in creating targeted business contacts between interested foreign and Bulgarian companies, provide the necessary information and consulting in their interaction with state institutions in Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian Black Sea (aquatory) has under-utilized resources such as: 20 000 tons of black sea sprats (Sprattus sprattus pharicus), fabourable conditions for farming of black mussels (Mitylus Galoprovincia) in which several farms are already operational. Numerous products are already in production - black sea fish, cultivated mussels etc.

These natural resources are accessible for processing into high quality produce. A highly experienced workforce and managerial experience is available in the region. Suitable legislative base is already in place that favours foreign investment, including state guarantees on investment, preference terms for the privatization of state manufacturing facilities and property in the branch.

The Association is at your service for information and cooperation. It is managed by long serving representatives of fishing and the fishing industry- Chairman Captain Kostadin Gaidarov and Deputy Chairman Dr. Vesselin Popov.
